(3) Matthew 25:45-46.
(1. The corrupt human nature would not accept that God will punish his sins. Thus, in his poor excuse, he insists on the fact that the merciful God should not punish any sinners, because God is merciful. If God punishes any sinners, then God has a problem not to live up to His mercy.
2. The sin committed against the majesty of God deserves the eternal punishment. Therefore there is no second chance for such a blasphemous sin, Hebrews 6:4-6; 10:26-29.
3. In his lifetime with both his body and soul, a sinner commits sins against God. Thus, God must punish the sinner both his body and soul.
4. It becomes very clear that how much merciful God is towards sinners by acknowledging the proclamation of the eternal judgment to such sinners. By listening to such terrible yet good news, a sinner can turn from his sins to a merciful God in repentance. Then he could fear God as he ought to and receive the once lost peace in his heart.
5. The children of God who received baptism into Jesus’ name ought to know this awesome truth that he may accomplish his own salvation in fear and trembling. Such a process of salvation is only possible through the grace of God that comes through the mighty work of the Holy Spirit.
By his own will power, no sinner can change his corrupt nature and cultivate his spirit for the better as if by doing so he could accomplish his own salvation from sin, Philippians 2:12-13.)
